Recently I was asked, "How important is the amount of money a guy makes to a woman"?
Honestly, as shallow as it sounds, money and appearance are the two most significant factors that contribute to a guy's "sex appeal". Why? Well, it's not because women are "gold diggers" looking for a free ride, it has a lot more to do with biological predispositions.
Women are biologically predisposed to seek out potential suitors who have a demonstrated ability to lead and provide for the family. However, these predispositions assume that all other factors are created equal.
As humans, we are much more complex than that and there are a number of other factors that come into play. For instance, if the woman is particularly successful herself, the amount of money a guy makes might not be all the important to her. Also, each of us is entitled to have our own preferences. There may be characteristics a particular guy possesses, such as charm, wit or intelligence, that are of greater importance in the mind of a particular woman.
Aside from biological predispositions, women are more inclined to be attracted to a man who is successful and/or attractive simply because of the confidence it brings him. Confident guys are sexy guys!
If you're worried that you don't make enough money, it's going to have a psychological impact on the way you assess your self-worth. Hence you are likely to exude less confidence and thus less "sex appeal" in the mind's of a woman.
Rather than worrying about what you don't have and tearing yourself down, focus on the things you do well and that make you stand out from other guys. This will, in turn, build your self confidence and make you more "attractive" in the mind of a woman.
With that being said, you should hold SOME type of job that you work hard at, are dedicated to, and are passionate about. If you don't have that, then no amount of charm, wit, or confidence will compensate for in the long run.
